In Finnish Christmas the food is really important or even the most important part of the event! I wanted to bring the taste of Christmas for Simon and his family and I spent one whole day in the kitchen cooking a christmas dinner for them! They really liked it but they started to think if Finns are fat... I had to explain that christmas time is time when you are suppose to eat a lot! And you're "suppose to" gain few kilos before starting to eat normal again on January. The traditions is actually coming all the way from the period when people didn't have a lot to eat but christmas was alway the time you could eat!
Here you can see what did the dinner include ;)
Rosolli Salade with beetroot and some stuff |
Ham with peas |
Potatoes |
Salmon |
Carrot casserole |
Cheese cake for dessert |
